Ever After 2017 – Blog Hop & Give Away!

Hello everyone!
I have some wonderful news! I am going to be teaching on Ever After this year! You all know how I absolutely LOVE story telling and fairy tale art, so this is really exciting for me! You can imagine all the ideas and stories forming in my mind right now! 😛

And even MORE exciting news is that I can give away 1 space on this magical new collaborative art course! Keep reading if you want to find out more about Ever After  and if you want to find out how you can win a spot! 🙂

First let me tell you a bit more about Ever After in case you haven’t heard about it yet! “Ever After” is a mixed media art & style development course with a fairytale theme hosted by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts. Tam is joined by 15 popular mixed media art teachers who will all share beautiful fairy-tale & myth inspired lessons with you AND they will also divulge all their hints and tips on how they developed their own style and how YOU TOO can find your own unique voice as an artist! 🙂 Yay!
You can find out all the dates (and sign up with the Early Bird price) by clicking HERE
My chosen fairy tale is “Mother Nature, the myth of Gaia

My lesson will be inspired by this fairy tale, I have some fabulous ideas cooking! I’ve not fully developed my class idea yet, but I’m excited to be sharing this theme with you, as I have a deep love for nature and many of my paintings reflect this. I also adore using watercolor and mixed media , and can’t wait till we can explore and discover this medium together, and how it can make your painting magical and unique. You can see an example in some of my paintings, and how I like to “tell a  visual story” as well.

  1. I have been interested in Red Riding Hood lately. I’ve watched some movies, and read some rewrites of the fairytale. I love that she is finding her way on the dark, wooded path to her grandmother. Thanks so much for a chance to win!

  2. I have been interested in Red Riding Hood lately! I love that she is making her way on the wooded path to see her grandmother. I’ve read some rewrites of the tale that I really loved! Thanks for a chance to win!

  3. Hi Katrina! I have always loved Alice in Wonderland. Her sense of wonder, perseverance, her playfulness and more than anything her strong personality. Thank you for this chance.

  4. Ariel is my favourite at the moment – I think I need a holiday and some sea time 😂😉

  5. I would love to be snow white..she had so many friends with her dwarfs ..would love to win thank you your art is amazing

  6. Peter Pan as he forever lives on in a children’s hospital that is really a magical place thanx to his author. I really believed I could see him and tinerbell when I was in that hospital 🙂 so he holds a speacial place in my fairy dreams
    ciao joan

    ( b_fazio at tin dot it )

  7. I have always loved the idea of exploring a magical land like Wonderland, Oz, or Neverland, so I’d have to pick Alice, Dorothy, or Wendy.

  8. This course will be amazing! I’m so happy you are going to be part of it. I’ve seen your lessons on other courses I’m taking and they are wonderful. My favorite fairytale is Beauty and the Beast. I love that she is such a strong character. Thanks for a chance to win a spot. 🙂

  9. Shared and signed up. I’m thrilled from this opportunity to learn from you. Mythical character I’d like to be: a priestess of Avalon!

  10. I would love to be Alice in Wonderland. What an awesome adventure that would be! I need a good adventure.

  11. Elizabeth, from the paperbag princess… she’s strong and independent. Love her!

  12. Such a tough question as there are so many fairtale characters and myths. Though and at the moment I would love to be Wonder Woman. With the rope of truth I’d fix all the ‘alternative facts’ issues and catch put the compulsive liars while saving the world from those who want to hurt others.

  13. I would like Rupunzel! As I have always had long, long hair ever since Inwas a little girl!

  14. A strong sovereign female character for sure! The mage Polgara comes to mind…from a fantasy novel. I would love to see more characters like this in what we read our children! This is a great start!

  15. Rapunzel, all those beautiful golden locks and that sleepy old gnome Rumpelstiltskin!

  16. Today I feel like Dorthy lost in Oz. It’s a wonderful place but I just want to go home.

  17. Liked and shared your facebook page and post.I would want to live in Narnia and have adventures with Prince Caspian.

  18. If I could I’d choose to be Tinker Bell because she can fly. Or Jasmine because of her beautiful long hair. Thanks for the opportunity xxx

  19. Hi Katrina. I love your beautiful artwork! I would have to be Ariel the Mermaid, as I have red hair, love to be in the ocean and also love singing! xx

  20. I would love to win a spot!! I am exploring 2d art and loving it but have limited finances for classes. I am a 3d artist (metalsmith) but have taken on a foster baby (she’s 9 months old now!) and find it difficult to get into my metals studio with her around. Painting/drawing etc is something I can do more readily with her napping etc. It is helping to fill a creative void. I am not sure about fairy tale or myth – maybe someone like Merida from Brave. Because, well – brave. and strong. Thanks for the chance !

  21. Most fairytale characters seem to lead very stressful lives. lol I think I would like to be Belle or Jasmine, these two have been my favorites ever since I was little. 🙂 Thank you for this opportunity! Your art is so stunning. (I wasn’t able to find where to sign up for the newsletter, but if you could add me manually I would be super grateful also xx)

  22. I would loooooove to win!! Sadly I will have high vet bills (surgery for my bunny boy) so I won’t be able to pay for it… so I really hope I can win a spot. 🙂 Of course I was already signed up for your newsletter. :p

My fave fairytale is the swan princess! <3
